Birthday Girl Kirstie with LucyJune, July and August went by so fast I can hardly believe it. We took our annual family trip to Lava Hot Springs July 20th-24th. We did something different this year we took the whole family on a Wagon ride with dinner at the Baker Ranch. It was really a fun trip. The kids got to sit up f ront with the driver and see those huge Clydsdale horses. The dinner was dutch oven beef with baked potatoes, corn and salad they also had hot dogs for those not wanting the beef. They had brownies with whip cream for dessert. They also had a fun play area where the kids enjoyed slides, swings a t-pee and running around. The river was a lot of fun as well and of course the hot tubs and pool. We were there for the Lava Hot Springs founders day parade. The kids enjoyed it as well the the adults. The parade entrees through candy, popcycles and waterballoons. It was really a fun day.
On Monday after the trip to Lava, Jeff said he had tickets to the Days of 47 rodeo so Whitt Lynae and I joined Jeff and his kids. We had told Alesha we would watch Koen and Brigs so we took them as well. Whitley was up with her mom as she had an appointment with the Doctor to see about getting her tonsils out. We all had a good time. But taking Brigs to a rodeo was really like taking the rodeo to the rodeo.
In August we had rescheduled our trip to Maryland that we had postponed from June. We left Salt Lake on Aug. 4th to arrive in Maryland to spend the next 10 days with Doug and Lieu. We had a great flight and arrived about 30 minutes early. Our plans included a trip to the beach. We spent Saturday- Wednesday there and had a very relaxing time. On Thursday we attended the Washington DC Temple we had a most enjoyable time there we even ran into our neighbors Mike and Bonnie Kirby who we hadn't seen in 20 years. I recognized Mike and asked him if he lived in Utah. He said he had and I immediatly knew that he was our neighbor. They had since moved to South Carolina then to Maryland. What a small world that they would have been at the temple the same time we were.
In August we also went to Oak City for Oak City days we all had a great time there as well. All the kids were there with the exception of Lynae Bryan and family as Bryan's brother got married that weekend.
All the kids plus grandpa started school in July or August and they are all back into the swing of things.

Good recap. Can we go back to Lava? I think this year was the best one yet.
