A WALK AROUND SILVER LAKE

On Saturday the 12th Whitt and I decided to take Lyane and her girls up to the cabin for a overnighter. Here it is the middle of July and we haven't even been to the cabin. July has just gone by so fast. We will have to make a conscious effort to get ourselves up there and enjoy the mountains and the cooler temperatures.

We were late getting up there as we had spent the afternoon at Deer Creek playing in the water for Grantie's birthday but we still had a great time. We picked up a pizza and took that and a few other eatibles. The girls had a bath in the cabin tub then we watched a movie. The girls didn't make it very far and neither did grandpa. Lynae and I didn't make it clear through it either. It was Disneys Game Plan and it was a very cute movie. We finished it the next day. Sunday morning we got up and fixed breakfast then we decided we'd clean up a bit and head up to Silver Lake for a walk. Whitley had brought her doll and stroller and she was determined that she wanted to walk her doll. We told her that she would have to walk her all the way because we weren't going to do it for her. The last little bit she was pretty tired but she did make it.

Can you see the pretty yellow butterfly in the greenery? The girls loved that it just set there and didn't fly away. I'm glad the picture turned out this good.

Whitley and grandpa after the walk. That girl loves her grandpa. We saw a guy with his dog just about ready to start to walk around the lake. The ranger came out and told him he couldn't have his dog up there. He really was having a hard time understanding that he really couldn't have a dog up in the canyon. Whitley just kept asking about that. Claire and Libby rode in the stroller and about 3/4 of the way around they passed out sound asleep. This is them trying to keep their heads up. It really wasn't happening.
Lynae walked with Whitters the last little bit so she could make it. As you can see she wasn't really happy about it.

Whitley and Grandpa play a game of air hockey.

Ready for the walk. Do you think it is cold? Claire would make you think so. She just has to have her blanket. Libby is ready, sitting up there like such a big girl.
Grandpa, grandma & Whitley and her baby are ready to start the walk. The weather was beautiful just the right temperature.
Yes that is snow. Can you believe that there was still snow up there. The girls loved standing on it and of course Claire had to taste a little as well YUCK. They took off their flip flops so they could feel the cold snow.
